AYSO, state and federal authorities require that all volunteers in youth sports programs complete a criminal Background Check as well as additional youth safety related training. Please know that volunteers will not be allowed to perform volunteer duties until these requirements are completed and verified in the system.

• Register as a volunteer for the season by completing a Volunteer Application.  This must be done for each role, each season you plan to volunteer.  For additional Support with Registration, please refer to the Volunteer Registration Instructions.
• "Log In" for returning users or "Register Now" for first time users can be located at the top of this page
• Ensure that you register for the desired role in the same program and division that your child is registered

After the volunteer application is completed the following six steps must be completed to be cleared as a volunteer:

CLEARANCE PROCESSES:

Background Check: You can check the status of your Sterling Background Check at any time here.

Fingerprinting (LIVESCAN):
-Select the option that says “Get Fingerprinted at a Livescan Location". 
-You can search locations here. 
-You may submit your $25 receipt to the region for reimbursement by sending a copy of your receipt and the mailing address you would like your check to be sent to in an email to [email protected].
-Please allow up to two weeks for the results to come back to the AYSO Office.

TESTS/TRAINING:

SafeSport (90-minutes, timed if this is your first time taking it. 30-minute refresher required on an annual basis)

CDC Concussion Awareness – on AYSOU (approximately 40 minutes but this is self-paced, test-out required)

Sudden Cardiac Arrest – on AYSOU (approximately 15 minutes)

AYSO's Safe Haven – on AYSOU (approximately 30-45 minutes)

Important: Please do not upload any certificates of completion or proof of completion of fingerprinting to your profile.  This will delay credit from posting to your profile. 

• Youth Volunteers should be at least 12 years old
• Youth Volunteers may serve in the Referee Program or as a Team Training Assistant 
• Youth volunteers may not be listed as Head Coach or Assistant Coach but may serve in the role of a Team Training Assistant.

• The volunteer application must be submitted annually by a parent or guardian.
• Youth volunteers must not be made responsible for or in the position of supervising other children.
