Hello Jamboree Parents,
On behalf of AYSO, the Region 116 board of directors, and the U5 Jamboree staff, welcome to U5 Jamboree 2022! I would like to take a few moments to explain our program and tell you about an opportunity to find out more at an in-person parent meeting. Here are some of the key features of the U5 Jamboree program:
1. No weekday practices (Saturday’s only)
2. Expert coaching and soccer skills development
3. You chose the schedule
4. Snacks provided by region
5. Uniforms provided (jersey’s, shorts and socks) – You need to provide shin guards
Here’s how Jamboree works -
1. All Jamboree sessions are held Saturdays at Horizon Park (970 E. Palomar St. in Chula Vista)
2. The first week of Jamboree is Saturday, August 27, 2021.
3. Session times are 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM – You pick the one that best fits your schedule
4. Check-in 30 minutes before start time under the canopy and get assigned to a field
5. 25 minutes of drills, then 25 minutes of scrimmage with water breaks throughout
6. All players get a snack bag as they come off the field
7. September 3 is an off week (Labor Day weekend)
8. October 1 is an off week (School district Fall break)
9. The last week of Jamboree is Saturday, November 12 (10 weeks total)
Here’s How You Can Learn More-
We will have a series of informational parent meetings at the date/time/locations listed below-
• Tuesday, August 16 at Horizon Park at 6:30 PM (next to the softball field)
• Saturday, August 20 at Horizon Park at 10:00 AM (next to the softball field)
You only need to attend one meeting as the content will be the same at both meetings
I hope to see you all at a parent meeting. We will have more information than this message could hold and we will also be looking to distribute uniforms (if they have arrived). If you are unable to attend one of these meetings, or they have not yet arrived, you will be given a uniform at your first session.
